Parking Changes at the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market Lot
Starting April 1, 2025, our discounted parking rate at the Old Strathcona Farmers' Market parking lot will no longer be available. On April 5, the City of Edmonton will take over the operation of the parking lot. We have been informed that there will be no new discounts for theatre patrons or free Saturday parking for Farmers’ Market visitors.
We are disappointed by this decision, as affordable parking helps make theatre and cultural events more accessible. If you have concerns, we encourage you to contact the City of Edmonton by calling 311 or contacting Ward papastew Councillor Michael Janz.
Parking is still plentiful in Old Strathcona, with many options (paid and free) located throughout the neighbourhood. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the Varscona!

Our special Varscona rate is $3.00. Park your vehicle at the Old Strathcona Theatre District Parking Lot. The lot is located at 8404 102 ST NW (accessible on either 102 Street or northbound on Gateway BLVD). Use the link or QR code to be taken to the payment page. The promo code for the month is listed below. The discount starts two hours before showtime and is valid for 6 hours.
The Varscona Theatre is located at 10329 - 83 Avenue in Edmonton, Alberta. Our building is across from the Old Strathcona Farmers Market and the Walterdale Theatre, right in the heart of the Edmonton’s Theatre District.
Transit
Our central location is accessible by bus. Edmonton Transit routes 4 and 8 travel up down Whyte Avenue (82 Ave) at regular intervals. Strathcona County Transit (from Sherwood Park) operates route 404, which also makes several stops in the neighbourhood.
Cycling
The theatre is located along a bike route on 83 Ave. There are many bike racks located throughout the neighbourhood, which are for public use.
